Fördömda Kanin

Fördömda Kanin is a translation, into Swedish, of the phase ‘pesky rabbit’. This installation involved the misconstruction of several pieces of Ikea furniture to create traps and snares. Flat-packs brought into the space were opened and their carefully illustrated instructions ignored. Instead the individual components were fastened together is such a way to create a ‘minefield’ of lethal devices; tripwires lined the floor ready to bring wardrobes crashing down and shelving units will be whittled into an array of spring-loaded spikes. All the traps made were adaptations of those found in the SAS Survival Handbook. In an effort to bring the outdoors in pot plants, also purchased from Ikea, were interspersed throughout the space.
